Outgoing Officers Run
Every year a trail run is scheduled in honor of the Club Officers from the previous year. The run is generally not difficult so that all Club Members can join the trail for the day.
This year, the 2011 run for 2010 Club Officers began on a trail off of Lovell Canyon Road west of Mountain Springs Pass. The first half of the trail ran back east and north of Mountain Springs into a tight canyon, then along power lines south to the Mountain Springs Saloon.

The group ran through three narrow areas.

Once back on 160, the group ran back down to a second trailhead at Mount Potosi Canyon road. The group trailed past Boy Scout of America and other camps and then onto the long slopes west of Potosi to Goodsprings.

A few Jeep Cherokee 4x4'ers found us on Highway 160 and joined us on the trail.

Running further south toward Goodsprings. The trail rises over several short ridges. Several other minor trails parallel the main trail; it is helpful to have a GPS plot or guide traveling through this area - but in general the trail eventually intersects with roads near the Sandy and GoodSprings area.

Outside of GoodSprings, we passed several wild horses.

Our destination was the Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, NV. Dating back to 1913, this saloon has a bar, pool table, and grill area. Clark Gable reportedly drank here upon hearing the death of his wife Carole Lumbard. More information and history can be found here.
Club President Tammy, Outgoing Webmaster Joe, and several others arrived ahead of the group and had grilled food ready by the time the group arrived.
