For Prospective Member Club's Aim and Requirements |
|
The aims and purposes or this club shall be to make use of our four wheel drive vehicles by exploring our forest, hills and desert, as can be done by a four-wheel drive vehicle. To include all four-wheel drive vehicles. To include all family members, and, to respect the areas traveled in as much as possible. Leave it in the same or better condition after use (ie Tread Lightly). Tread Lightly Program: ("We did not inherit the earth from our parents, we are borrowing it from our children.") The program promotes staying on designated trails to reduce the impact of outdoor recreation. Travel only on land that is open to your vehicle. Be sure your vehicle is compatible with the road or trail conditions. Cutting switchback and taking shortcuts can destroy vegetation and cause others to use same unauthorized route. Most trail and routes are designed to withstand the effects of recreational use. Resist the urge to create new ones. Prospective members must have a 4x4 vehicle to qualify for membership. Prospective members must be at least 18 years old and must each attend three (3) regularly scheduled meetings and fully participate in three (3) sanctioned Events and/or club-sponsored activities determined by the Officers within a three (3) month period. Upon completion of the requirements to the satisfaction of the Officers, the prospective member and co-member will be recommended to the general members for a vote at the next regular meeting after qualification. A majority vote of the members in attendance at the regularly scheduled meeting will determine the outcome of the membership. Newly elected members must pay their initiation fee and prorated annual dues at the time they are voted in. The $20.00 initiation fee will include one (1) set of magnetic vehicle plaques. These amounts may be increased or decreased from time to time by a vote of the majority of the members in attendance. Annual membership dues will be $36.00 per year and paid on a yearly basis and are not due later than January 31st. Should you not pay your dues, you will then be dropped from the membership and must requalify. This amount may be increased or decreased from time to time by a vote of the majority of the members in attendance. Officers are exempt from paying annual dues for the year they serve. A family membership will entitle the member and the co-member one vote each. Each member and co-member must qualify for membership and having been accepted 30 days prior to an election, provided they are in attendance at that meeting. In accepting membership in the Vegas Valley Four Wheelers, the members hereby agree for themselves and their family and relatives to hold the Club and well as and all members free and harmless for or on account of any damages to persons and/or property which may be claimed by a person or persons by reason or participation in any club activity.
